The Anatomy Memorial Service is held to honor the people who donate their bodies to Ohio State's cadaver program. The donations make anatomy education possible for medical, dental, and undergraduate students. The event is intended to show our gratitude to the families of the body donors. The donors do not get a proper funeral due to the quick turnaround required to preserve the bodies. Therefore, the service is additionally meant to help provide a sense of closure to the families. The ceremony will start with a video of student's reflection on the impact their anatomy experience had on their education. Next, there will be a general welcome followed by a invocation my a member of the department of chaplaincy at the Wexner Medical Center. A student musical performance will be next, followed by a faculty speech. The ceremony will continue with with a photo montage comprised of pictures the families of donors submitted. Finally, the ceremony will include with a candle lighting ceremony.
