Gay Hockey Ohio will be hosting a Pride Night at the Schottenstein Center on February 1, 2013 when the Ohio State Buckeyes takes on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The puck drops at 7:05 PM.
The Student Life Multicultural Center's Queers & Allies Student Association will be sponsoring a group outing to the event. Beginning at 6:00pm in The Boardroom under Section 127 there will be a pre-game social, and after the game there will be an open-skate with The Ohio State Men's Hockey Team on the Value City ice.
This will be a historic night that you will not want to miss! Why? It's official - The Ohio State Men's Hockey team has partnered with the You Can Play Project, a non-profit foundation with its overall mission of ending homophobia in sports. OSU is one of the first NCAA Division 1 teams to sign-on and promote YCP. You can find more information at www.youcanplayproject.org
In addition, The Ohio State Men's Hockey team will be filming a You Can Play PSA this month that will be aired and unveiled during the Pride Night at The Schott on February 1! Columbus Mayor Coleman will be filming a Columbus GLBT PSA that will be debuted as well.
The Multicultural Center has a limited number of tickets available for free to currently enrolled students. Stop by the MCC to pick yours up beginning on January 28 at 10 am. First come, first served!
If you are not a student, or if you missed the chance to get your free ticket from the MCC, tickets are only $10 individually or $9 for groups of 10 or more. Order yours today at www.gayhockeyohio.com/osu-pride-night! Best of all, don't forget that a portion of each ticket sold will be donated to Kaleidoscope Youth Center and Camp Sunrise, two great organizations serving the Central Ohio GLBT community.
