November 3, 2023

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

High Five to Chase Price with Facilities, who went above and beyond cleaning an event space before and after an all-staff meeting. He takes pride in his work, and his support to make this event a success was no exception.

Speaking of Facilities and their team meeting, Wes Larkin of Student Life Technology Services gets a High Five for saving the day, responding quickly when the AV equipment wasn’t working. He made the repair before the event even began.

Mark Sampson of Counseling and Consultation Service gets a High Five for being elected as the next president of ACCTA, the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies. This is the professional association of training directors in university counseling centers.

High Five to Tori Rehr for all of the guidance and support through the program review process. One department that just went through a program review says, “She is a rockstar!”

Prestin Minter gets a High Five for always being positive and bringing great energy to the Student Life Marketing team.

High Five to Hannah Warner for creating a very detailed report and helping with some other fiscal challenges for the Marketing department.

Our culture commitments of Appreciation, Connection, Support and Care go far beyond things work related. This note I received speaks to what makes our team so special, “I would like to give an High Five to Bridget Hildreth, Troy Keller, Sonia Romdhane and Nora Rodriguez and all of the Housing staff in the Archer House, and also student advocates in Drackett for caring about me after I lost my mother last week and asking me how I am holding up and everything. I appreciate it a lot.”

High Five to our partners in the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) program for celebrating their 75th anniversary. Please check out this great article on the program and its accomplishments. The article notes that HESA was one of the first in the nation to combine theory with practical work experience by placing students in assistantships and I am so grateful for that continued partnership and for all of our Graduate Teaching Associates throughout Student Life.

You still have a little, but very little, time to participate in this year’s Buckeyes for Charity campaign. The deadline to give is today, so help us reach our Student Life goal by supporting nonprofit organizations around the state that are involved in a cause that is important to you. And High Fives to our Student Life captains, Teri Cugliari, D’Arcy Oaks and Morgan Hammonds.

High Five to many Student Life team members and campus partners who are going above and beyond to support our students’ freedom of speech and expression at Ohio State. Special shout out to Stacey Renker, Matt Couch, Tanisha Jenkins, Danny Glassmann, Jeff Pelletier, Anne Schira, SVP Jay Kasey, Director Monica Moll, Captain Eric Whiteside and Chief Kimberly Spears McNatt.

Finally, High Five to Brutus Buckeye, who turned 58 years old on Monday.

Have a Scarlet and Great Weekend, and, wait for it...

 GO BUCKS!
